Charlotte Streck - Climate Focus
Charlotte
Streck, director of Climate
Focus B.V., Rotterdam, provides services to public and private
entities active in the international carbon market. She is an international
expert in developing and structuring projects mitigating greenhouse
gas reductions (carbon finance transactions, Clean Development Mechanism
(CDM) and Joint Implementation). She advises on the regulatory framework
of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the
Kyoto Protocol, and the European Emissions Trading Scheme. She has
extensive experience in drafting and negotiating complex carbon
agreements, related, among others, to the establishment of carbon
funds, the implementation of projects, or the contracting of intermediaries.
Before founding Climate Focus, Charlotte worked for
five years as senior counsel with the World Bank in Washington,
DC. In her work at the World Bank she specialized in providing advice
on emissions trading operations and on questions related to the
UNFCCC/Kyoto Protocol. She is a founding and board member of the
Global Public Policy Institute and authored and co-authored
several books and a series of articles on environmental governance,
law and policy.

Adriaan Korthuis - Climate Focus
Adriaan
Korthuis, director of Climate Focus, is an authority in questions
relating to the design and implementation of the Kyoto Protocol,
with a particular focus on Joint Implementation and the Clean Development
Mechanism. Adriaan was initiator and programme manager of the ERUPT
and CERUPT programmes of the Dutch government agency Senter. He
has an extensive network in the carbon business and is a strong
communicator who persuades from his own passion and enthusiasm.

Jean Bogner, PhD - Landfills +, Inc.
Jean
Bogner, PhD, president of Landfills
+, Inc., is a specialist in geoenvironmental projects with emphasis
on landfilling and landfill gas. She offers more than 30 years
experience in commercial landfill gas recovery, applied field and
laboratory research on landfill processes, field measurement of
landfill gas migration and emissions, global climate change and carbon credits
aspects of landfill methane and other landfill gases, implementation
of landfill biocovers to optimize methane oxidation, and diverse
types of geohydorlogic investigations at contaminated and pristine
sites.
With a project portfolio encompassing the United States, South
Africa, the UK, France, Australia, Egypt, and New Zealand, she has
an established network of international clients, contacts and contracts for
specialized projects on all aspects of landfilling and landfill
gas. Previously employed at Argonne National Laboratory (Illinois)
for more than 20 years, she was the U.S. Department of Energy representation
to the International Energy Agency (IEA) expert working group on
landfill gas and has served on International Global Atmospheric
Chemistry (IGAC)/International Geosphere-Biosphere Program (IGBP)
committees related to surface-atmosphere exchange of trace gases
and on IEA/OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development)/IPCC
(Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) committees revising
IPCC protocols for methane emissions from solid waste disposal. She served as coordinating lead author of the Waste Chapter of the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report from 2004-2007. The IPCC received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for its report.
