Overview

To date there are no internationally registered landfill gas clean development mechanism (CDM) projects in South Africa, although two are close to achieving that milestone and EnviroServ's Chloorkop project is one of them. CDM projects have significant environmental and economic benefits and the potential for these projects in South Africa is enormours. However, the projects tend to be complex and have been slow to gain momentum.
